Nope, Flareup was Firestar's protege, a new character. That's why in Transformers Legends Firestar is called Firestar (Hasbro got the trademark back) instead of Flareup

There was a BotCon mockup, but it was hand-painted so it had a limited release of one.

Before someone questions it, Llamatron means this Hyperdrive rather than the Micromaster. And it's a good idea.
the sharkticons are transformers of a sort, so I'd love transforming toys of them.
the quintessons on the other hand, appear to be organic in a metallic carapace/armour, they aren't transformers as such and a quinteson toy that transformed would essentially be a non-canon toy.
It's like a transformers/marvel or transformers/starwars crossover in my mind they occupy their own universe, anakin isn't a transformer and his representation as a starfighter is just odd, in the context of transformers or star wars.
It's like having a starship enterprise that transformed into a kirk or picard.
a quintesson with excellent paint, sharp mold design and articulated tentacles, and maybe a light tower/stand gimmick would appeal to me a lot more than a quintesson that transformed into a bipedal robot, or a random space cruiser.
apart from the g1 sharcticon, there haven't been any others and there were other "shark" modes represented on screen that I'd like to see toys of, like the third party "allicon" that is being produced.
but my comment was in context with the quintessons, I would love good quality quintesson toys, but I'd prefer if they didn't transform and were well articulated instead.
