Ehobbybaseshop still have a couple MP Soundwaves in stock, for $240... BUT, if you buy this month, the $20 discount code brings it down to less than BBTS, and shipping will be cheaper. But when they go out of stock, BBTS is a good source to fall back on.

And for a late September re-run:

RobotKingdom listed preorders for Takara Soundwave USD $134.90

Slightly cheaper than BBTS. Any particular reason why that we can think of?

They must be getting mixed up with the Hasbro release, as the JP version would never be that cheap. If it really is TakaraTomy releasing another production run at almost half their first batch, it's gonna upset a lot of people who bought one of the first ones.

And it's not like they'd be dropping the price to compete with the Hasbro version, as they've never done that with other MPs that had second runs... and it is a different market anyway, so isn't affected by what Hasbro releases.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty unusual price drop. I'm expecting RK to make an update either about the price or the item being incorrect. BBTS already have their second run of MP-13 in stock.

My Takara Soundwave was $170 from BBTS, but I assume that's after their shipping and profit markup.

Hey I just noticed HLJ's original sale price for Soundwave was ¥12,640, which would be currently around $128 US. So, maybe not that unreasonable?

    Edit to add:
Via Seibertron.com, Cybergundam blog is reporting a rerelease of MP-13 is scheduled for September.

Just seems real convenient that BBTS suddenly had MP-13 "In stock" and a few hours later pre-orders for a second run pop up on various online retailers at a fraction of the cost.

I'm just speculating, but it does seem as though they kept a number of these for sale at a later date when the market price had gone up to make themselves a higher profit. They just didn't count on Soundwave receiving a second run.

Up for pre-order at $159.95 on tfsource too

Wouldnt be suprised if they did.
Considering the release date of the Hasbro version has also been pushed back, it could be assumes that it was move on TT's part to manufacture alongside the Hasbro version and sell some more units of the JP release.

Doubt a retailer will hold popular stock and wait. The worst if the stock ends up being unpopular and dead. Storage space is critical in a store so if retailer can release and sell they would.
But with this 2nd run eBay pricing will surely come down
