Yea RRP for Smokescreen was definitely higher than Prowl and Bluestreak. However, lots of place still seem to have stock of Smokescreen while Prowl/Bluestreak were instant sellouts. One might speculate that places overordered Smokescreens after witnessing the demand for Prowl/Streak and also buyers might have gotten burnt out after having the same mold released so many times in a row.

May be the same mold, but seeing it in person there are many differences from the other 2. At least they weren't just straight out repaints like the classics mold lol.

While amiami and hlj have ran out of stock some places have them cheap others not so. But I have to say overall all the Nissan paint work has been better than Lambor's

Obviously Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen have a history of remoulding (light bar/nothing/fender/spoiler), but this is the first time they've gone to such efforts for the robot modes (heads, waists, shoulders, arms, etc.) I love that they've attempted (and basically succeeded) in turning Shōhei Kohara's Prowl and Bluestreak into Floro Dery's Smokescreen model. I excitedly bought Smokescreen because of this - if it had been the same robot mode I wouldn't have touched it.

Or maybe TakaraTomy thinks that the fans will prefer movie toys and won't have any money for MP toys.

Don't joke on that as I believe it is real, same for Hasbro. It is probable that they do indeed think that movie toys are more popular purely on what is likely to be store demand. They have done this in the past where they sacrifice a steady selling line for movie toys that largely end up shelf warming.

Amazon.jp had Smokescreen retailing for more than Prowl and Streak as well. If it is cheaper somewhere, it would have been a secondary source basing their prices on collector demand.

Apparently one of Wheeljacks accessories is going to be the 'anti-hynosis' device he used in 'The Ultimate Doom' 3-parter from G1. That's kinda cool, and makes as much sense as Starscream coming with Kremzeek or Grimlock with his brain-helmet
