I just think the only thing the marketing department cares about is to somehow push the first 10 to be as close to $1K USD as possible (they're doing pretty well, it almost $900USD).

Now that really blows... for buying the regular Metroplex, if I want the full "30" I have to buy two more Metroplex toys (from SDCC and from the Asia Con).
Not only that, a regular version of the Shockwave's Lab, AND the SDCC version are in the "30". Could they not think of anything better in there - out of the various toys being released in 2013 AROUND the world (not just America), these were the only 11 they could think of?
That just made it so much easier to not bother collecting the set, if I already have the moulds or colour versions already. (or can get cheaper retail versions)

It would have been really cool if they used the opportunity to make Metrotitan in its G1 colours or any other of the funky colours in MTMTE's Cyclonus' flashback.

Perhaps Hasbro has the Metrotitan idea down the pipeline as a mainstream release rather than an exclusive, as this would more likely reap better rewards than convention exclusives.
