If it's CR God Magnus then it's 2000, but if it's RiD Ultra Magnus then it's 2001.

Here's how it works:

1) For each of the Transformers' 30 years (1984~2014), select 1 or 2 (no more) of your favourite toys from that year. If you select 2, one must be a carded figure and the other must be boxed.

Hang on - do they need to still be carded & boxed? Or that's just how they were originally sold. Because if that's the case then I've got to go back and do a second 30

No no, they just have had to have originally been carded or boxed, but don't still have to be sealed. My sealed collection is tiny, so there's no way I'd be able to populate a list with my meagre boxed/carded collection!

That rule was put in place to stop the list from being dominated by the larger and more expensive boxed toys, since those toys would often outclass the smaller and cheaper toys -- but I think the smaller/cheaper toys have their own charm. So for example you've listed Powermaster Optimus Prime as your top boxed toy for 1988, but you might like to also add Cindersaur as your favourite carded figure for that same year.
