    Default Custom Omega Supreme

    Hi Folks,

Been AGES since I posted a custom transformer... and it's still a WIP but I thought I'd see what you thought so far.

I love the idea of the YOTS Omega but the colours were pretty horrible. I don't mind the browny grey colour of the bulk of the body because it is quite reminiscent of the G1 figure (I think... I've never owned one) so I decided to try and make him a little more G1. For those at home who want to do the same, the White Knight Squirts "Gum Grey" spray paint available from Bunnings is an almost exact match for colour.

I painted the lower leg sections in Gum Grey and added yellow highlights on the shins (the photos don't do the yellow colour justice - it's a warmer yellow than it looks). Then I painted the shoulders yellow with some silver highlights, painted his claw orange, and a little bit of red on his torso to match his chest.

I'm definitely going to add some detail to his feet and shoulders, highlighting the detail in the sculpt, but then I'm not sure if I should keep going and get rid of all the horrible gold plastic and bronze paint. I'm also thinking I'll have to paint the wheels properly.... who had red wheels and red tyres?

Sorry about the craptacula photos, the lighting in my garage is very poor. Anyway, please let me know what you think.

Looks good, do you have any "before" pics?

I think the orange claw is the biggest difference, I'm starting to wonder if I should have picked one up myself. it's too late now.

that looking good man ... im glad you painted his leg ...i hated that red on there... i would also paint his thighs cause i don't like the green as well... And i think all you need now is to do an ink lining all over to bring out that detail on him ... and a little dry brushing if your up for it ...
    nice work ..keep it up

I wanna see how it looks in alt modes as well if you can take pics of that too Stencilator. Cheers. The orange claw sure works well.

Thanks Guys.... I'm thinking of painting his biceps yellow and his thighs in Gum Grey, then painting all the bronze parts and the rest of the gold parts silver. Some line marking, paint the windows and the grill on the left leg and I'd be happy. If I find the time I'd go crazy with paiting the cables and pipes on the mould details in different colours and some minor weathering.... and some little warning/safety sign stickers or decals.

I haven't transformed him yet but I might finish all the bits I want to and then I'll transform him and take photos. I still think he will look better that the original alt mode.

Here he is in my display...

the alternator/binaltech figures really look good in amongst the Masterpieces.
I'm so jealous of people with an original Jetfire that is in one piece.
