Get them now while they're at a reasonable price.

what they all said, it's not looking likely that all if any of them will be released by Hasbro. There has been no news of it happening at all. even for the sideswipe/red alert mold.

^This. You can get 'em for about $50~60ish at preorder prices. I doubt a Hasbro release would be much cheaper than that (at least not at first; unless the toy shelfwarms and they slash prices). Up to you - but if you'd rather not take the risk then I'd advise preordering a TakTOM version. The TakTOM MPs are overpriced (IMHO) and not worth paying full RRP for, so preordering gives you the advantage of getting them at below RRP.

If you asked a few days ago I would have pointed you to HLJ to get them. They reopened orders on Saturday for them at around AU$50, sold out now. Best bet is probably RK now at around AU$66.

Yeah I live in a constant state of uncertainty about MP Red Alert. On the one hand I didn't think after getting MP Sideswipe that the figure was worth the price I was paying so didn't get Red. But on the other hand I wanted him and now if I want to get him I'd have to pay at least $30 more than I paid for Sideswipe. So if you want them, grab'em because they will be more expensive later on

I can relate with what you've said about Red. I wish that i'd picked up an MISB Nucleon Quest Convoy when i had the opportunity to do so at a good price.

AFAIK it mostly comes down to licensing issues.

Does anyone know what the copyright/IP deal is with Datsun, especially re. Hasbro?
I seem to recall that a large part of the hassle with getting a Hasbro - and Takara before that - Countach mold is because Lamborghini was/is pretty picky with their licensing, but I don't know how Datsun (or whoever their parent company is) is on said issue. IIRC TakTom managed to secure a domestic release after giving Lamborghini a certain amount of reassurance on the shade of red used for Lambor, but I don't know about Datsun and their stance on licensing outside of Japan.

We don't know what the state of the Nissan/Datsun license is on the MP-17, ect. But when the Alternity line first came out Hasbro said the Nissan license was Takara only.

Datsun is owned by Nissan. As for licensing outside of Japan, I probably wouldn't want to deal with Hasbro unless they paid a lot of money
