Looks good. As you've mentioned I'll have to look at price before starting an IDW shelf.

It is an awesome aesthetic look that has a lot of appeal to me...However the fact that he is primarily designed to transform into a G1 Fort Max head kind of ruins it a bit for a a couple of reasons:

    - Smaller size due to having to scale with the G1 Fort Max toy head ('tallish' deluxe) - Not a good fit in a 'Classics' display unless it is with Legends and Scout sized toys

    - No alt mode aside from the head which is a downer for those who would like a 'stand alone' Classics Fort Max. If there happens to be a '3rd' mode, I suspect it would be heavily compromised by the head mode.

    - People who don't have a G1 Fort Max would be left out.

I really do like what I am seeing but the limitations above make me question if it's worth it.

I'm with you kup. While cool; scale wise he is too small. Price will be what will make me decide to get it or not.

I really like the design of this, It is a shame that it won't have an alt mode representing something to tie it into the IDW universe but at the same time the transformation looks inspired. The last photo also mentions 7 in 1 so there may be more to this than meets the eye...

Looks totally intense. I'm sure I've seen pictures of him with a set of treads hanging off his back though... I think they were removable.

The fact he transforms into a head for G1 Fort Max is disheartening. Doesn't sound nearly large enough as stand alone.

You're right, here it is. I was trying to look for that post as well but couldn't find it, thinking that it was a distinctly different third party company that was offering it.

IDW-esque tank treads are there, but I didn't like the original head/shoulder proportions. The original head seemed bigger (now we know he was meant to be a Headmaster all along) and the way that it sunk into his chest/shoulders seems to reduce the level of bravado they were trying to achieve.

I agree with kup, that the head-mode excludes non-G1 Fort Max owners, but that didn't necessarily stop me from enjoying BW/BM/RID Megabolt Megatron
