Army building - Am I insane...

Is it totally crazy to have 15 air vehicon's most of which are in box.. 4 or 5 on titan Metroplex.. I started think i will get my own army/cannon fodder and it seems everywhere i go, i go hunting for them.

I have a few Wheeljacks in different molds, a few Grimlocks and i am looking forward to beast fire Grimlock. but with same mold repaints am i crazy for basically buying the same fig only in different colours? the only exemption would be the seekers IMO..

so who else get fig's to build a squad? Is getting that new cool repaint worth it..

they look good together in a squad that for sure...!! .... I got the MP lambo and the MP datson ... the GTR also ...they all about just the same but only repaints ..... same with the MP seeker as well.... I got like 12 MP seeker all in different repaints !!

I have a version of every G1 character ever represented with Classics Seeker mold. Plus a couple of the Universe 2.0 Cyclonus and Generations Scourge. (I need more Scourge.) I think it's OK to army build within reason, but at some point you cross into hoarder territory.

I'll get like 4 of him. Skrapnel, I really only want 1, but he's the one I'm really looking forward to this year.

I think there's something a bit crazy about toy collecting in general, but army building is its own kind of crazy. When we do it, we're basically saying that we would rather spend our money of toys that are identical to ones we already have than the novelty of a new one.

I settled for just 2 ground vehicons myself - one FE and one RiD. I'm using them as the Odieverse versions of these guys. For the most part I try to go for different molds - eg. my planned Sweep horde will be 1x Titanium Scourge, 1x Classics Scourge, 1x Botcon Scourge (which I don't have), and 1x G1 Scourge, and Henkei Cyclonus' 'armada' is my old G1 Cyclonus - because I just don't have the budget and/or space to collect armies of sweeps/Vehicons/Insecticons.
I'd suggest that maybe if you've got 15-odd of the same army-builder and most of them are still boxed up, that might be a good time to look for something different and maybe offload a few of them, but that's just me. If you're a Prime fan AM Breakdown is pretty sweet, albeit expensive.

I prefer to army build with different toys rather than identical ones.
e.g. my TF Prime Vehicon army -- each Vehicon is a different toy.
