    Default Voyager Sky-Byte toy coming?

A comic cover coming out in March shows Sky-Byte (who was introduced to the IDW-verse about 2 years ago), with a new form... backing up the leaked Hasbro database in October, that had a Voyager Sky-Byte listed.

Since the Movie toys are taking over the Generations Label from May (until at least the end of the year), could we see a Sky-Byte toy squeezed out before May, to coincide with this cover variant?

We certainly haven't heard of a third wave of Voyagers for 2014 (after Whirl was Wave 2 - which was originally scheduled for March, but came out early last month), so there is still room for one or two waves to cover the other three Voyagers on the Hasbro database (Sky-Byte, Brainstorm, Roadbuster) before we have to see Movie toys contaminating the Generations Label.

As doubtful as I am that he will be released by May before the contamination. A new body would be suitable for something post Dark Cybertron as it looked like Sky Byte got hit hard by .... something.... in the event and could do with an upgrade.

Not holding my breath for him, Brainstorm or Roadbuster to be released prior to the movie crapping over the best toyline class in years.

I dunno, doesn't look a heck of a lot different to how he was portrayed a couple of years ago, though I suppose that in itself is his new form. Might just be that he is being drawn by a different artist now. Guess we will find out in the upcoming months.

That's the thing with IDW... remember a few years back, Bumblebee kept changing forms and styles depending on who was the artist. This could be the same, but since we know a Sky-Byte toy might be coming, chances are that this was drawn to match.

The timing matches how long it would take for people at Hasbro to see how (unpredictably) popular it became as a cult character, to then approve, design and produce a toy in those 22 months since his first appearance back in May 2012 (RID #5).

Don't really dig that design but sometimes beauty is all in the transformation

I would have been happy with a reissue of the Cybershark mode, but thats probably to expensive to make.
