To me this seems like a blatant attempt by Hasbro/TRU to see how much they can milk out of us. The problem is that nearly everyone that wants one already has Prowl. Basically they want to charge us $100 for a fancy box.
No dice Hasbro. No dice.

I think they are counting on US/Aus customers as Takara imports do not make it to our shoal. Overall, $100 is no different than actually buying from Ebay now, and you get the launchers with it.
Wow - the price???!!!What's the point Hasbro? I got my Prowl for $80 (incl shipping from O/S), and it came with extra launchers, AND I got it 6 months ago!!!
They seriously misjudged this one.
Could this be a licensing issue affecting the price?
The price inconsistency compared to the previous (post mp 10) releases and prowl is logical if that is the key issue. Those mp releases so far have not needed any licensing and have been cheap for their size compared to their Takara counter parts, yet if one considers licensing affecting this prowl- makes sense that some part of the inflated cost could be due to licensing fee.
If that is true, then I wonder if it's just hasbro US settling the license fee or it is a separate license for hasbro in each region/ country it distributes to. On that basis, it follows that a licensing fee for hasbro Australia would be required.
Could be totally wrong though...
Edit: ok so looking at the packaging for this version, it doesn't display the Nissan badge/ logo, as the Takara version has. But the figure itself, is unchanged so still branded with the Nissan badge on the hood. So technically licensing would still be relevant, however it's odd that they would not advertise the brand showing its a licensed product.
It'll be a question to ask at BotCon, why Hasbro's Prowl is more expensive than the JP one. Or if it the American one is significantly cheaper than the JP one, I'll see what Hasbro Australia or TRU Australia has to say about the hefty price here.
Prowl's listed for £59.99 ($108.45) in the UK

& UsD$59.99($64.62AUD) in The States
Perhaps we are all paying Australia retail tax. Been reading about these retailers pushing pricing up for Australian consumers.
