It's good to see that The Canadian International Trade Tribunal came to its senses... (If only the Aussie equivalent of it could reach the same conclusion... )

It would be difficult to police if you can just drive across the border.

The issue here is that our laws differ between states and territories.

Mounties!!! That's the way it's done!! And here I've been wasting most of the last year training an elite squad of crack kangaroos to carry them across the WA border in their pouches... like an idiot!!

Do you guys reckon we could use this as a precedent to convince or customs to change the classification on MP-05?

No because it occured in another country. And as I said, our customs laws vary from state to state. Some states such as WA, SA and NSW already have legal avenues for people to possess/import gun Megatrons while other states like VIC still seem dubious.

It should be noted that they haven't actually changed the law on replica weapons, but on the classification of Megatron as a replica weapon. An avenue to approach here perhaps, to have them reassess Megatron in terms of its size rather than appearance.
Tiby, you mentioned that the MP Megatron is supposed to be similar size to the real thing, but that Canadian report says it is 30% bigger, which allowed them to assess it as being too over-sized to be considered a replica.
