Default Bernie Mac, dead at 50.

Damn, I didn't even know he was sick. And he didn't seem that old either.

Transfans will remember him for the role as Bobbie Bolivia, the used car salesman in the 2007 Movie, who sold Bumblebee to Sam and his father at the start of the movie.

"Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital," his publicist, Danica Smith, said on Saturday in a statement from Los Angeles.
She said no other details were available and asked that his family's privacy be respected.
The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalised and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease.
He was probably more famous in America than here because of his 'Bernie Mac Show', which I don't think screened here. At least, not on free to air. It lasted 5 years and over 100 episodes.

Other notable roles included the Oceans Eleven movies and Charlies Angels 2.

He was was born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough on October 5, 1957, in Chicago. Died at age 50, 9th August 2008.

I've always thought that his performance in Mr 3000 was one of his best.
