BotCon 2014 news bits (and some photos)

Ah, beat me to it... and a better photo too.
When I took out the toy yesterday to photograph it, I realised that I never put stickers on mine... to keep it looking "Firey" in God Ginrai mode,
but never expected to ever have just the Ginrai cab in robot mode.



And just to wrap it up... the class of BotCon 2014, including both painted and unpainted custom class toy. (but not including the Kreons)

Thanks so much for your photos and commentary on the photos. I really want to go and after getting back into the TF world after many years i kick myself everyday that i never thought to check out the convention scene when i lived in the US for 3 years back in 2002.
I would love to just roam around the dealer room for a few hours and see what's there. The wife says we should go next year and do a little cross country tour with our 2 girls, but no matter how much i think about it it just wouldn't be the same. I'd want to set it up to go over there with a bunch of like minded people like yourselves.

I do try to encourage people to go, but the last three years have had such a poor turnout, and those three were some of the closest/cheaper ones to get to (LA & Texas - both have direct flights from Australia with QANTAS).
The last two years I only found two Australians at BotCon, and the year before (2012) I only found one other Australian at the convention.

I guess I got spoilt after 2009 & 2011, which had 10-12 Australians attending, bringing a whole new level of fun to the event when you don't have to break the ice with people you don't know. (admittedly, it is quite easy to just start talking to random strangers at BotCon, because you are all there for a common reason)

Agreed. The paint apps look great, especially on Bulkhead and Optimus. Even the shellforming Bee looks pretty good. Gonna wait for a G1 set of dinobots, don't want to get more than one of each mould.

Dispensor got up to a lot more mischief than just those photos... and there is a lot more commentary to come with the photos above in the full report, to explain him being in some of them.

I think Ultra Marginal found it a bit amusing too, with some of the antics Dispensor was getting up to.

Dispensor must be hard at work putting together the Botcon 2014 full report. All work and no news of mischief behaviour lately has me a little concerned.

Sorry... I had a little over 2,000 photos to sort through this year, and ended up needing about 1500 of them. I still have about 600 left to crop and upload... and then, write up the descriptions on the pages.
Actually, I've got enough photos done now, to be able to start on some of the pages and release them, without the worry of having to go back and fix or add to those first few pages.
Expect quite a few posted up tomorrow... as long as I don't get any sicker.

Unfortunately, most of the three weeks since I've been back, I've caught a couple viruses and a head cold... spending about 10 days over that time in bed or too tired to do much at all (including the last three days).

Last year I got the flu shot and forgot about it this year... so it does have me thinking, what if one of the ones I caught in the last month was covered in the flu shot. Or, going two years without a virus made the symptoms even worse.
Either way, the flu shot is something I'm going to have to remember each year.

A lot later than I was planning, but I wanted to get enough finished before releasing parts of it... otherwise it gets confusing, and I wanted the Introduction done up first (which I couldn't do until I had completed most of the BotCon part of the report.
