If you are still uncertain about whether a "toy" fits into the definition of an imitation firearm or firearm based on the above guidelines, LRD recommends that you seek independent legal advice.
So if I go to a lawyer and say I'm purchasing MP-36, show them all the info about the permit etc and they give me a letter or legal document saying something like "it is a toy, will not fall under imitation weapons, no permit should be required" then I can skip it?
