Another footballer toy from Hasbro coming?
In November 2013 Hasbro released a "limited" edition Generations Deluxe Megatron toy in purple with a football and autograph painted on the toy for the footaller Calvin Johnson from Detroit.
(it was officially limited, but many hundreds were produced at the factory and sold off on ebay by a factory worker)
It looks like another footballer has a Transformer-ish nickname, and with Hasbro doing up a white redeco of RID Bumblebee and registering a trademark of that name, expect to see a toy released somewhere soon.
The footballer is Julian Edelman of the New England Patriots (who won the Superbowl last week), and apparently the nickname of "Minitron" was started by Tom Brady who is on the same team.
Since the Patriots won the game in the dying seconds, Hasbro might release this toy to commemorate the win... or whatever clothing brand Edelman has sponsorship deals with like the Megatron toy was done with Nike.
(what is with the Gridiron footballers taking on Transformers names...)
