Blitzwing looks more like Windsweeper to me. And I agree with UltraMarginal's sentiments. I just don't see the appeal here. It'd be like say having...
    * G1 Hound repainted as Mudslinger or Greasepit
    * G2 Laser Optimus Prime repainted as Powertrain and/or Ironworks
    * G1 Jazz repainted as Nightbeat or Minerva
    * G1 Inferno repainted as Hot Spot, Red Hot, Hosehead/Cab, Discharge or Fire Chief
    * G1 Trailbreaker repainted as Highjump
    ...etc.
Sure, I'd get the reference, but it'd just be too far out there to ever appeal to me.

It's not the reference that I have a problem with as these could well have been botcon proposals that Hasbro decided to do for themselves. After all, they would fit in as botcon toys... but not having an explanation to explain these by Hasbro is my issue.
If they came out and said that they were those homages or named them on the box I'd be jumping all over these... but calling them Blitzwing and Astrotrain and no real bio to explain the colours just looks cheap and makes me less likely to buy them.

For a while, I couldn't put my finger on why the Astrotrain is so ugly.
It isn't the colours so much, as the fact that the way they are used highlights the transformation seams instead of trying to hide them, as a good colour scheme should do.

Astrotrain is clearly the child only a mother can love, but I'm rather pleased with the look of Blitzwing. Mine just arrived yesterday, and think he looks good in any of his triple-changer modes. I was very disappointed to see that the missiles are non-firing though (or at least are on mine - maybe the spring was left out as a factory error?). Its so tight that I could barely load the missiles, and they won't come out unless I apply serious force. So it then seems strange they'd give you three of them, since you're never going to be able to remove the two that are loaded.
On the lookout for MISB Headmaster Highbrow, Takara or Hasbro. I'm sure I could make you a sweet deal!

Perhaps it was done to conform with US child safety laws. The spare missile thing may be just something from the original mould. Just my guess.

They should have at least put in the packaging "weapons do not shoot" just not to create confusion
