    The Twins.
    Explosions.
Killing off most of the good characters and nearly all of the Decepticons.
    No story.
Dinobots getting 5 minutes of screen time.
    Megan Fox.
    Shia LeBouf.
    Marky Mark.
and the biggest reason (and arguably the only reason)
    MICHEAL BAY
Also Steven Spielberg, this spells trouble.

Some writers have now been hired for the expanded Universe project, with a fair bit of writing history behind them.

Included are Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man writers Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2's Zak Penn, and Amazing Spider-Man 2's Jeff Pinkner.

Interested to see how this'll play out now.
Marvel writers, Kirkman! He writes the comic Invincible, as well, which is pretty dang great.

I dunno, do we really want to hire Marvel writers to work on Transformers?

    Sorry what happened in 1983?

    They came up with everything?

    All the names?

    The whole universe's background?

    Never mind.

It intrigues me to see which characters they choose to single out for these storylines.

Do they do origin stories? ie Orion Pax/Megatron
Do they branch out and follow the cartoon to finally bring Bumblebee into a leadership storyline role?
The origins of Drift? or Prowl and the path from evil to good?
The rise and fall of Starscream's ghost?
Do they really go off left field and venture into Beast Wars/Optimus Primal?
Do they mess with the past and give us alternate future storylines (a-la Star Trek)?
Or do they simply branch out to different "teams" around the universe who don't have Optimus in command/influence and show their stories - Junkion, etc?

The Transformers universe is so vast I am curious to see from what angle, who and how they approach it. I've always seen Transformers as a team, reliant on each other to make their battles a success so if they are going to branch out and focus in on individuals I really am curious as to how they will achieve that.

I hope they do a Cyber Planet Key Hunt movie with the Cybertron Cast that haven't already got Movie Characters, ie Hot Shot, Vector Prime, Landmine (although he 'appears' in the first movie I don't think he really counts), Red Alert, Overhaul/Leobreaker and some of the other planet bots (Override, Brakedown, Metroplex, Backstop for example) against a group of Decepticons, Crumplezone, Ransack, Thundercracker, Thunderblast for example

I know some of these characters have appeared in the IDW comics but since when have Bay and his goons payed any attention to those.

Are they intending to do standalone movies running alongside the 'main' franchise, like the new Star Wars series? Without knowing any better, I'm guessing there will be 'side' movies running alongside/in between Transformers 5 or Transformers 6.

At the very least, there will hopefully be a framework or overarching plot for the next few movies - the movies to date have all been 'episodic', seemingly adding to what's gone before and leaving room for a sequel instead of being serialised/conceived from the start as being part of a series.

I like it how we're saying cool ideas that Hasbro are going to ignore.
