First thing's first - I love the overall colour. Much richer and deeper than the RTS/BiS Cyclonus, however I'm not sure this guy will take prime position on my MTMTE shelf yet.

His central torst is, at least in my opinion, improved over Silverbolt - the "gap cover" is easier to flip up, and due to the change in head transformation (flipped back, rather than forward and hidden in the chest.)

Alt mode is almost totally different than Silverbolt. Entirely new backpack, and they've "cheated" with a little partsforming for the smaller spikes on his arms, that end up in his hands when in alt mode.

I'm utterly impressed at Cyclonus when I was initially hesitant when I found out he was a retool of Silverbolt. Seeing him in hand with that beautiful purple has sold me. Also the Galvatronus mode looks way better than I initially thought

I'm not overly impressed with Cyclonus myself. The bot mode is OK, and the alt mode does pay a decent homage to the G1 toy. Even the Galvatronus mode is OK, with a decent Galvatron styled head sculpt.

But I'm not particularly liking the normal head sculpt, which I think reminds me more of the Wicked Witch of the West than anything lol.

Not really sure of the purpose of Galvatronus either. I sold off my Stunticons, so here he is with the Aerialbot limbs.

Here's my video review of the new Combiner Wars Cyclonus. Not too bad a figure, but nothing overly impressive.

The Galvatronus mode still baffles me too as to what the backstory is on that one.

This Cyclonus just doesn't do anything for me. I love the Henkei Cyclonus, it captures Cyclonus perfectly, this one doesn't. Only thing that might get me to buy him is if he turns up in IDW.
I have a list of all G1 characters that have been released in CHUG form. You can find it here. Please feel free to let me know if I got anything wrong so I can fix it.

I now have the image of Cyclonus playing that head like a bongo

I can vaguely accept Silverbolt (and he rest of the Aerialbots) being essentially a "boxy robot folded up under an aeroplane" in alt mode, because that's pretty much all they've ever been, but Cyclonus has had some stellar toys that aren't like that at all. So this guy's a disappointment and not something I'm looking at buying.
