Default SDCC Transformers RID & MISC News and reveals

Also being revealed at the Breakfast event was the ToysRUs exclusive Clash toys... which is their first official reveal by Hasbro of this subline of RID.

Being shown were the two Legion 2-packs and the three 3-steps... so now that they are promoting them, we will probably see the rest of them on display in the main exhibit hall later today.

Now that I've had a better look at the Clash Bumblebee and Optimus, I see that they have both been given remoulded parts in addition to some new colours... which like the new mould Megatronus toys, it is odd for a limited edition store exclusive to be able to afford all-new parts.

EDIT... to get in before the Legends Windblade images that don't make much sense without knowing what they are for.

    RID Presentation

The panel kicks off with the usual introductions.
Jeff Kline “Robots in Disguise is one of the top rated shows on Cartoon Network”
A video preview showcasing some of what is coming up later in the season is currently playing.
Shows some clips of Drift, Windblade, Optimus Prime with a huge sword (“Supreme Mode”)
Currently talking about the background of the show, nothing we’ve not heard previously – the whole lighter direction like Generation 1 etc. They also wanted to take advantage of new 3D style CGI
Voice cast are joking around on a tangent. Real sense of camaraderie among the crew.
Constance Zimmer is talking about how this was her first involvement in Transformers, and her first voice role.
They’re off on a tangent again. It’s a pretty chaotic panel.
Apparently they’re like this when they’re recording, too.
Grimlock’s voice is a product of the actors playing off each other and ad-libbing.
Cast considers themselves blessed to have fantastic writing.
Constance is apparently quite animated in recording sessions – swings her arms and gestures a lot. Has apparently hit people by accident before.

Over to a Q&A now. No toy news.
More Dinobots and female characters are in the show’s future. At least one Dinobot to come.
Someone requested the voice actors do a drive-thru skit.
No word on if we’ll see Megatron or Starscream in this series.
An older version of Jack (and other humans) from Transformers Prime was originally planned to be in the series, but a decision was taken to leave him out. That said, we might see some familiar faces sooner or later. No word on whom.
No word on if Season 2 is happening, yet.
Closing up the panel by showing a clip of Megatronus in action from the finale.
The Megatronus clip can be watched here if you don't mind spoilers.

RID Display Case - With the new Legions Ultra Magnus, Drift, Thunderhoof and Windblade, plus the Clash RID, black redeco 3-step Night Ops Bumblebee, and Rescue Bots.

Official Images of the RID Clash Legion and 3-step toys.
(no official images released yet of the newly revealed regular RID toys)

Some upcoming release dates from the display case that I could see...

Legion 2015 wave 4 - Alpine Strike Sideswipe (also Night Ops Bumblebee) (US$6) - July.
Legion 2015 wave 5 - Ultra Magnus (redeco Optimus), Patrol Mode Strongarm (black redeco) - September
Legion 2016 wave 1 - Thunderhoof, Autobot Drift, Windblade (all new moulds) - January.

Warrior 2015 wave 4 - Night Ops Bumblebee (redeco), Gold Armor Grimlock (US$15) - August.

3-step 2015 wave 5 - Night Ops Bumblebee (redeco) (no date or price details)

    Mega 3-step Optimus (US$30) - August.

Clash Legion 2-packs (no price noted) - September.
Clash Ultra Megatronus (no price noted) - September.
Clash 3-step Optimus & Bumblebee (no date or price label)

I find it strange that they don't make any mention of the Clash Warrior toys, in any press release, presentation or the display case. Maybe they aren't being released in America (the SDCC presentation is for products released in America... we in the rest of the world just use it as a guide for what we could see here).

Right-o chaps, no point discussing the cool new Combiner sets, new hands and feet for those releases. Instead let's all bitch about the colour scheme of the fan built toy and complain about a cheap Legends toy not being as good as an expensive third party collectible.

I despair at this fandom sometimes.

Yes the legends toy not being as good as a 3rd party toy is a stupid comparison since they have different budgets, BUT, the legion toy still looks crap

That legends Windblade can't be real right? It looks like a kabaya toy.

(updated first post with news and links to images for the RID portion of the Hasbro SDCC presentation and display... so that the poking of fun at the RID Legion Windblade toy can make sense)
