The new heads look cool, but then I remember that most of the moulds suck. Snarl and Slag are the best looking.

Not sure how I feel about it. G1 reissues would have been nice, but I was fairly indifferent anyway.

I like the idea of the Gen1 heads, and would have made the SDCC & Amazon Dinobots even better.
This set, like the other Platinum sets this year, will probably be best just left in-box on display.

I'm just glad that I had a suspicion from the start that it was too good to be true, to not go proclaiming it all over the internet... instead, I had it buried in the Toyfair report for people to find. (and it was other fansites and fans who focussed on the Dinobots bit of the report)
It will still impact on the believability of any news from Australia in future (from anyone, not just me), based on the comments already posted on other fansites already.

It certainly proves the saying - pics or it didn't happen.

Yeah sounded to good to be true. I didn't have high hopes for a g1 reissue, but was excited that there may be a chance. But it seems they are not done yet with milking the movie dinobot molds. I do appreciate the G1 Style heads. But I feel bad for those who may have several sets of movie Dinobots already, and may already feel slightly annoyed.
If only G1 Style heads had some classics bodies to go with them. I wonder, its a shame when they originally designed these, that they didn't plan ahead to have some proper remolding to have a more classic aesthetic. This will be a maybe purchase for me.

So this set was on display at HK ani-com (HKAGC) today and I have to admit I burst out laughing when I saw it. I will upload some photos shortly, but after seeing it for real this is one dinobot set I will be passing on (my son collects most of the dinobots). In real life the figures almost look like knock offs! Even the head sculpts don't save the aesthetic of the set.

I apologise in advance for the quality of these pictures. My daughter begged to do photo duty at ani-com today and I let her... the pics haven't come out as well as I had hoped.

This was the display of the G1 dinobots on the Toys'R'Us/Hasbro stand at HKAGC (ani-com).
