So, it looks like Kobayashi is going for bigger robot modes than Hasui. Ironhide I can understand being larger, but Tracks and Hot Rod are both a head or two taller than the likes of Sideswipe and co.

Not a complaint mind you, though it will make MP group collections a bit trickier to display.

So I think this piece dashes all hopes of replacing mp-9 so to speak as is way smaller.

I thought that was in line with the old G1 character size charts that they gave the animators to ignore.

    Here's the Sunbow scale chart:

And's here's the one from the movie:

So Hot Rod does look about a head taller than the regular carbots.

I'd go so far as to say that maybe MP sideswipe is a little short. only a little though.

Yeah scales should be seen as a guide, but not as absolute gospel, as the seeker jets have demonstrated.

Looks like you were right. I was kind of wondering if it was a 'scale' thing or a 'new design philosophy' thing.

Also, geez...I never realised Hoist was supposed to be so freaking big!

yeah surprising Hoist is as tall as Inferno, looks chunky as well. I expected the bulk, but the height makes him look massive!

I was thinking the same thing - Hoist should def be shorter than the likes of Inferno and Grapple
