I'm hoping limited does not equate to ridiculously expensive.

It already is bloody expensive. 15984JPY ≈ AU$190. If TRU released an MP Seeker for $200, we'd cry foul.

As much as I'd like this toy, I can't justify the price. I really hope that Hasbro will pick this toy up, but then who knows what crazy price TRU will charge for it. They should charge $100 (same as AU RRP for MP(3) Starscream and Acid Rain (Sunstorm too? Don't remember...)) -- although TRU are currently charging $150 for MP(11) Starscream, so I guess that might be a more reasonable expectation from TRU. (-_-) $150 is still too much, but beats paying nearly $200, and that's not even factoring in the cost of shipping.

2000 units is just the Japanese release.
The quantity released by Hasbro HK for Asia is never known, but must be significantly more for a number of HK online sources (and Australian outlets that get HK stock) to have plenty of stock.

The toys and packaging are the same.
As noted by someone else above, the HK toys often come with a bonus coin or accessory. (gold MP Megatron came with a mini Reflector camera, and MP Optimus reissue came with a Vector Sigma key & ball)
