The thing that I have with retconning G1 characters as all being a certain sub-class, such as Gestalts or Headmasters, is that it makes that sub-class feel less special. This is why the Optimus Maximus gestalt team doesn't interest me. Similarly if they're going to start making non-Headmasters into Headmasters, then being a Headmaster in the first place is going to feel less special to me. It's reminiscent of Syndrome's plan in The Incredibles; he wanted to make it possible for everyone to be special, to be a superhero -- because, "...when everyone's super... no one will be."
Yes, but Energon Omega Supreme is a completely different character from G1 Omega Supreme. But I take your point that they could develop the one base mould to service both versions of the character to make more money off it. Also, having a removable head may also be advantageous if they ever do a GADEP/Guardian Robot repaint, as people can recreate the headless Guardian Robot resurrected by Shockwave in the G1 episode, War Dawn. But I don't know how much market appeal these redecoes would have. G1 eHobby GADEP was reportedly a shelf-warmer and was later sold at reduced prices.![]()
Personally I would like to see Omega Supreme but at the moment on various forums I'm seeing an overwhelming response wanting Trypticon. Thing is - I love the Platinum Edition Trypticon I already have and he's a recent release... unless it is Optimus why would you re-release the same character so soon?
Skorponok would probably be more logical as you get a nice big bad guy and I don't think he's been done recently has he?
Having said that I hope they eventually release all 4 so we have titans from both sides to be able to battle things out... i LOVE these giant sized transformers. The only problem is I live in an apartment and space is quickly going to become an issue (since "my son" will NEED all of these regardless of who is released)
I agree with this heartily. I am yet to nab me a Tryppyticon yet, but do plan on doing so. Scorpy would be #1, Tryppy #2 and Omega #3.
Unless it was Animated style Omega Supreme in which case OMEGA!!!
I could Handle Tryppy being a head master, because his head kind of looks a bit like a space ship anyway.
While I can understand Gok's feelings, I think the HM gimmick as a line being used is cool, as it's not like they are going to make every TF toy from now until the end of the world a HM. It's just this series. It's kind of like they are just a larger sub-group selection than before.

If they ever did do Trypticon as a headmaster.... I wonder how... they'd prolly use Full Tilt but then he would be left with no assistant of sorts in dinosaur mode(not that he needs one ;P) to battle against Scamper... although they could just selectively pair him up as well with a random micromaster of sorts ( as city caretaker role...
I already own the YOTS Omega, even though he's shorter now compared to CW Devastator, he's going to be his match in my collection... unless they come up with a much better and new mould. Coz, for all the niceness the YOTS mould has it's still not the OMega Base and rocket I'd like... it's more of Starblazer and Starlight express mashed into one, good but still not quite there...
So for me it's
Trypticon #1
Scorponok #2
Omega Supreme #3

I didn't know there was a Beast Wars Devastator?

I would be very surprised if this results in a new Titan sized Transformers toy that wasn't already intended (in the works).
Their first fan-vote toy was a Deluxe (Windblade), which was short packed and didn't become a highly sought after toy.
Their second fan-vote toy was a Combiner (Victorion), which isn't generating much enthusiasm in the fandom, to the point of it almost being forgotten before it has even been released.
This third one is at least an existing character that would be more exciting, but the people at Hasbro must be thinking that these fan-votes are a waste of their time... and would be too risky to gamble a Titan on it.
I think Scorponok would probably be the easiest to (re)work from the Metroplex mould... but since it is a public vote on facebook, I don't think it will be possible to rig the vote.
Hope we don't get another metro-clone honestly, but the IDW comics pratically show that Titans looks so similar.
Also I saw the FB page promoting scoropnok before, but of course they would have to have a good concept on how to do each of these characters by now so I'd expect these to all make an appearance later. And personally I'd hope tripticon gets the Titan treatment
