Russ isn't stoopid, he was just a drunkard. Spacewolves are the equivalent of Space vikings, drinking fighting and more drinking. They are excellent all rounders with both ranged and close combat weapons, I much prefer to get in close combat with them as I put as many power weapons in the squads as possible(you can have 3 power weapons in a squad of 10 if one of them is a squad leader), this makes them excellent for killing off Necrons as they don't get their we'll be back roll against power weapons. One last thing, I think Russ is the only Primarch believed to be left alive floating around the galaxy(superior doggy genes)
