Now the Silver one doesn't look at all like Prime but it still looks damn !

At first impressions, the Red one is obviously meant to be Prime but IMHO it just doesn't work with the Alternity GT-R mould...

I like the variety of colours that the red one has, but I still prefer the silver.

I just can't get excited by this. While I understand the reasons why, the choice of Convoy just turns me right off. There are so many G1 characters which I would have found far more compelling. The red & blue colour scheme looks very forced.

I think they both look nice but the silver one looks nicer to me.

And Optimus Prime has been done in silver before, as in Optimus Prime's movie-universe Cybertronian "Protoform" form.

Yeah I am also not liking this first Alternity for the same reason.

I find it interesting that they have changed the Fire Convoy head of the prototypes to a more traditional G1 convoy head.

I just don't get this new line. We already have the BT line, re-continued, so is the only real point of this Alternity line is to have Deluxe sized BT type toys to make them more affordable to fans? Is it just a marketting thing, to generate more sales by people more willing to spend $40 instead of $50? And does that mean we will end up seeing a whole new range of BT-styled TFs Characters that people like me already have in BT-size? I know this first one is a new design, but what if the rest end up just being scaled down BT toys (like KOs)? There might be new collectors interested (like Universe had its first time collectors), and even if these were all new designs, we are bound to see most of the same old Gen1 characters again, which will just bug the long time collectors who want to see Gen1 characters yet to be homaged.
I feel I should be more excited about the complexity and realism of this figure, but the overall concept is not new, so am finding it difficult to be enthusiastic.
