Seems more likely that Inferno is a repack for Legacy
Seems more likely that Inferno is a repack for Legacy
There's been rumours of a new ant Inferno for a while. But if it's just another Inferno we've just had, I wouldn't be surprised
Core class SS86 Ratchet doesn't make a lot of sense... Core clase SS86 Ratbat however (next to SE86 Rumble listing) makes more sense. Autocorrect error?
Rumours are that a whole set of Stunticons is coming. Spoilers Menasor was an easter egg the vision/flashes in the Kingdom cartoon which helps that rumour.
A Ratbat autocorrect makes some sense. Alternatively perhaps Hasbro wants to release more core class figures of Legacy characters and is splitting them between SS and the current CHUG line when possible, such as was the case with Kingdom Cyclonus and SS86 Scourge, in order to get stores to accept more product and to get more unusual style of characters(the tapes or RoTF Wheelie) trojan horsed on to shelves at the same time. Stores might not buy all 4-5 waves of core class figures from one subline but they might pick up 2-3 waves from two different successful sublines
The list from that TFW link, said to be either Legacy or Evolutions...
Leader Dragon Megatron ($49.99)
Armada Starscream ($29.99)
Soundwave ($9.99)
Energon Monster ($9.99)
Bulkhead ($29.99)
Tarantulas ($22.99)
Skids ($22.99)
Dragstrip ($22.99)
SS86 Ratchet ($8.49) (Ratbat?)
SS86 Rumble ($8.49)
Kickback ($22.99)
Studio Series TF3 Laserbeak ($8.49)
Studio Series TF7 Wheelie ($8.49)
Blaster ($29.99)
Ravage ($8.49)
Inferno ($29.99)
Arcee ($22.99)
Photos of the altmode of the rumoured official MP Cliffjumper from a few weeks ago. Alt-mode looks nicely animation accurate. If licensed, it'll pave the way for an MP Jazz.
Super-deformed MP-45 Bumblebee was licensed even though the altmode does not sport a VW logo, as were the Q-Transformers line from a few years back. It makes the items more expensive but maybe Takara worries about IP infringement, and also perhaps putting the car logo on the toy packaging increases sales.
Some more store listings of what could be from next year's toyline...
Iguanus ($9.99)
Shockwave ($8.49)
Shockwave ($9.99)
Skywarp ($9.99)
Energon Monster ($22.99)
Jhaxus (Jhiaxus) ($29.99)
Wild Rider ($22.99)
Iguanus is ... intriguing.
That's the core class price point, so this'll be something tiny with relatively poor articulation. But why revive that character as a core class toy?
Pretenders were a stupid concept; even as a kid I could spot it. And it wasn't just the implementation that was limited by the technology of the day. But apparently lots of people have a soft spot for them.
Is there a plan to revive the pretender toys? Perhaps as a core class toy inside a toy of a larger class? If so, would it just be a shell, or would it be a fully transforming toy on its own? Perhaps if the core robot is sold separately, this is being done as a mix-and-match thing, much like the idea of being able to swap the titan-masters and prime-masters around (did anyone actually do that?).
As stupid as I think the 80s idea was, Hasbro these days does seem to know how to make toys that are playable and appeal to people. I really don't see the attraction of the fossilisers, but hey, look at them sell![]()
