    Default One serious WoW player!

Saw this today, and knew there were some gamers here who might be interested (or already know about it).
Some guy has set up 11 computers to generate and control a squad of up to 36 characters in the online World of Warcraft game.
That's some serious time wastage and a lot of money spent on hardware that probably wouldn't see much other use outside of gaming.
Wouldn't be surprised if he had a mini-bar fridge and bed-pan/bottle for the hours/days he probably spends gaming.

I'm not knocking someone having fun, but I think if you have that much time invested into something (hours spent gaming), you would want to have something to show for it that others can see. Otherwise, what has their life amounted to?

Yep I read about this a little while ago, there has to be better things to do with your time and money than have 36 WoW accounts.. like buy TFs haha..

The other day we had to do a group talk for a class and our group chose the topic "Gaming Addictions"... This guy was an example haha

Jesus christ that guy needs a life.
I love WoW but there's no way I would invest that much $$$ and have 36 accounts though.
I'm happy with just the one ^^

...ya... it's not just time (which is an important thing) but also money... where would have find the time and money to socialise? $5,711 annual subscription and $1,500 for the expansion (and that's USD too)... forget dining out with your friends (or a date!) at a restaurant and catching a movie in the cinemas... as per liegeprime's sig pic, he'll be living off instant noodles!! (O_o)

I know some people who have similar set ups to this - not quite as extreme, but they do have multi computer rigs with a massive mainframe in their house. Lessee... their bath-tub was full of toilet paper rolls and the kitchen was full of pizza boxes... I don't think anyone had ever actually cooked anything in that kitchen.

Toy collecting is an expensive hobby, but it isn't necessarily as time-demanding as gaming.

But on the other hand, at least he's enjoying the money he's spending I suppose. I saw an episode of Simpsons last night where Bart took up coin collecting and he and Homer finally acquired a really rare Kissing Lincoln coin - only to stick in an album and put it on a shelf never to be seen again. Reminds me of people who buy Transformers, stick them in a box and shove it in storage seldom to be seen again. That's why I like displaying and playing with my toys as much as possible - I wanna get my money's worth damnit!!

God I wish I had enough time to do that. I'm not saying I would use my time to do that, but I would still like to have that free time.

I read he was planning to raid one of the cities or something

I figured I'd put my question here instead of starting another thread, could anyone recommend a Realm for me to start on WoW. I finally bit the bullet and bought the first WoW to give it a go, I'm not a big fan of online gaming mainly because of some of the idiots you have to put up with. I'm not interested in PvP realms either. Any help would be appreciated.
