Default Transformers Animated kids promotion with Cartoon Network and Kmart.

Featuring Head Transformers Designer Eric Siebenaler.

Firstly, thanks to Hasbro AUS for passing this on (including copies of the advertising posters), with a couple weeks for those interested to prepare for it.

This is a 3 hour event for Eric to draw up winning designs from a Cartoon Network competition held recently. I couldn't find anything at the CN AU website about the competition except the rules, which said that it closed October 26, and was only for those under 15 (was probably best for us not to know beforehand, or some might have tried to sneak in entries).

The conditions to the competition, including the 5 prizes totalling about $2,000 each (a $235 set of Animated toys, and flights/accomodation to either of the Kmart events).

Please note that Eric will be focusing on drawing the winning designs, but *may* be able to do a meet and greet (like at fan events, eg. BotCon) during *any extra time* during the three hour event. So please be aware that this is a kiddie (under 15) event, so please remain inconspicuous while the attention is on the kiddies and the CN competition event. When an appropriate time occurs to be able to meet and talk or ask Qs of Eric, go for it, but be on your best behaviour, as there may be media or at least, the general public, and we don't need to be getting a bad name for our fandom. If we ruined their event, Hasbro could easily sever all ties with us, including the Q&A thing and any future TFs events notification.

Heh, I've been seeing the ADs for that "create a transformer" thing for weeks on CN, but I never got around to checking it out as I figured they'd have some sort of age thing on it.

But eh, overall it's something I really wouldn't bother turning up to, as Griffin said, it's for kids, let them have it.

Maybe so, but to have this one chance in Australia to personally meet and talk to a senior figure in the creative department of our plastic addiction, it's probably the one shot most of 'us' (okay, not me, but it sounds condescending saying 'you') will have at having any contact with the people behind Transformers as we currently know it.
And Eric is one I haven't met yet, so I'm also keen as a BotCon veteran to try to go to one of these events, just to see him in action and have a chat if possible.
