Laserbeak doesn't turn into the weapon or a part of the primary figure, so I would count it as a separate figure. If it can be named and sold as something separate, and isn't required for the primary figure of a multipack to be able to convert or be played with, it should count as a separate figure - Like the original Soundwave and Buzzsaw - Buzzsaw converted into a rather inanimate object, but is it's own figure, that is traded separately and Soundwave can be sold loose complete without it.
And as much as it might not have its own bio, I think there are a lot of toys that don't have bios, but are still counted.

Add me to your disturbed no energon cookie list STL. I count them as one. I agree with Paulbot that Laserbeak was treated too much like an accessory for this line. Although I did have to think about it for a while! So can I at least have some energon crumbs?

I count them as 2, but ideally I would count them as one, hence my vote.
I count them as 2 based on the Universal Counting Method, and I would count Lazerbeak as a Minicon like figure.
    But
I would prefer to count him as one with Soundwave. I think that it should be counted by the way they are packaged in the most simplest of forms.
I mean, if you got Armada Hotshot without Jolt, you would simply say Hotshot was incomplete.

So in the end I voted counting them as one, because, if you got Soundwave without Laserbeak, you would say he was incomplete, so together they make a whole.

Awesome poll/thread and a bloody good question!!

I would count Laserbeak as 2 as per griffin's rationale, but I can also understand the argument for counting it as one toy.

The more difficult question though is - what about CYBERTRON Soundwave and Laserbeak? I count them as too primarily because they've classified Laserbeak as Soundwave's Mini-Con (despite the fact that Laserbeak has no Mini-Con ports).

    ... then you lost it.

This is a war, pansies. You either get into line and back the cause or on the side of Barbies and Machine Men.

And to my loyal comrades, I've loaded the energon cookies onto the space bridge. They will be rationed shortly as we continue to cut the enemy down and prepare for our exams.
