As usual bw mp's have robot mode looking great and beast mode looking eh, but this isn't too bad a take
At this stage I’m convinced that the Masterpiece line is decided by just pulling a name out of a hat.

Lio Convoy is a significant character in Japan, and it's TakaraTomy doing the MP line (Hasbro are just grabbing stock and adding an outer sleeve to sell in America).
There's actually been quite a few Lio Convoy toys done over the years, so this doesn't surprise me now that they are focussing on the BW era for the MP line.
I just don't see this being an improvement over the original toy, as the lion mode doesn't look very nice.
Looks like Lio Convoy will be packed with an Artemis figure, which is fairly well articulated... shown in a Japanese hobby magazine, and a close up can be seen here.
The magazine scans show that the lion head on the shoulder of the robot mode is a fake lion head, as the real lion head is hidden under the shoulder kibble.
It's now been added to the TakaraTomy page, with official images and info, mirrored here.
No sign of the Artemis figure... hopefully it isn't a limited edition exclusive to a Japanese retailer.
I feel like we would have seen that announced already if so. Perhaps, assuming it was ever meant to see a retail release, it was moved to a different unannounced BWII MP to bulk up the appeal of it, maybe Black Lio Convoy or one of the other Lio Convoy variants(Flash, Galvatron, ect)
On August 2nd there was an unusual promo event held in Japan by TakaraTomy, that had the coloured prototypes of the Masterpiece Lioconvoy on display, along with the original Beast Wars toys and probably ever colour version of the original Lioconvoy toy, including a couple of Lucky Draw versions.
There's a collection of mirrored images and several source links here, for those interested in seeing the different versions of the original toy.
(there is one photo that has the MP Lioconvoy toy next to the red/black Lucky Draw Lioconvoy toy, showing that the new one is about the same size as the old one)

Which brings us to where we are today...
Lio Convoy comes out at the end of this month, and some one in Asia has already got their hands on one, sharing some photos of it in and out of the packaging.
