Default Netflix WFC toys and cartoon

For those who pay for Netflix, this new cartoon will be available from June this year.

From the Hasbro presentation at NY Toyfair...

Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy: Seige

    • FJ De Santo from Rooster Teeth gave use some details on upcoming Netflix Animated series. He mentioned that the characters are based on their G1 iteration, but the show will challenge the viewers on what they know about these classic characters.
    • The story will be set in the final hour of the Cybertronian civil war, where Megatron is trying to take the Allspark off the planet.
    • De Santo also mentioned that the character designs are derived from the CAD design files from the toy line, and their transformation in show will resemble the physical toy.
    • The show is handled by Polygon Pictures Studio, who worked on Transformers Prime and Transformers RID
    • A special Generations War for Cybertron line will be available through Walmart. Each Deluxe figure will come with one piece of Teletran 1. There are 10 in all, and you can complete Teletran 1 if you collect them all through out the year.
    • There are 2 Voyager release, Megatron and Hotlink, each will come with 2 battle master size figures. John Warden mentioned HotLink comes with the Firetwins
    • A Netflix special “Spoiler” box is announced. The box comes with one leader size figure, which contains spoilers from the show. John and Rachel caution from opening before watching the series, and joked about spoilers online.
    • Mentioned about the stories being told through various upcoming IDW comics series

A link to the official images of the first batch of Walmart toys (which I will mirror here as soon as I post up the news postings). Since they said that there are 10 Deluxe toys in this exclusive line, we are only seeing the first five, so more are to come.

    - A very minor redeco of Siege Hound (probably with black scorching battle damage like the others here)
    - Siege Sideswipe with scorched battle damage
    - Siege Chromia with scorched battle damage
    - A Decepticon Mirage in a grey/purple deco
    - Scrapface (a blue/red/grey redeco of Refraktor)
    - Megatron 3-pack - Siege Megatron with a darker deco and battle scratches, packed with two redeco Battlemasters.
    - Hotlink 3-pack - a purple/black redeco of Siege Starscream with two redeco Battlemasters that are twins
    - Ultra Magnus Spoiler Pack - just a photo of a box with "spoilers" written on it, so we have no idea what is in it, other than maybe a redeco Ultra Magnus and something that would be a spoiler to the Netflix cartoon. It looks like the Walmart product page for this toy has already spoiled what is in it, and after watching the trailer, it's contents should be a redeco Ultra Magnus with cloak.

Teletran 1 is a cardboard diaroma like the Studio Series backgrops. You can see a piece of it here from someone who got one of the Netflix series toys at the Fair.

The timing seems way off. Ideally the show would be airing while the Siege toys were the current toyline, instead of having to re-release many of the Siege toys again a year later with slightly different paint jobs. And if the 2021 Netflix season 2 is Earthrise we'll see it happen again.

That's very disappointing its cardboard and not a plastic BAF. I really would have loved to have an 'official' Teletran-1, but the expense of rebuying all ten Siege figures for what are minor reprints would have made it a tough judgment call (if we even DID get the Walmart exclusives here). So this saves a lot of money for other toylines, and good luck to anyone who likes them, but I do rather hope we don't get stuck with them as pegwarmers. Siege is already stinking up retail shelves as it.
On the lookout for MISB Headmaster Highbrow, Takara or Hasbro. I'm sure I could make you a sweet deal!

Here's a better image that shows what it would look like assembled.

Some parts are just the floor....

One of the slides I mirrored from the presentation showed the completed Teletran 1 diorama, and it looked like cardboard sheets because of the bend in some of them.

Not sure if going even harder on the battle damage is quite what fans were after, but it's there for fans that want them I guess. Disappointing that you have to buy them to get the Teletraan pieces. None of them are very appealing. Hotlink maybe but he has too much crap.

Apparently the Comicbook.com site has revealed that the three War For Cybertron cartoon series, will only be 6 episodes each, of around 20 minutes per episode... making each of the three chapters about 2 hours long... which isn't much, particularly if it is meant to be advertising toys.

Maybe all three series will be released within a 12 month period, as it has to catch up on Siege first (in June), and they would want to have the Earthrise chapter screening before the toyline ends at the end of the year, with the 3rd chapter of the cartoon released at the beginning of next year if they want it to sell that next chapter of toys.
