Was watching the feed last night and incredibly disappointed that the robot Optimus prime transforms at the command 'convert'. Wth??

Aside from that it was all right. Well I didn't enjoy watching the fortnite bit at the start. But seeing the ark next to the sides faces was delightful. Do want.

I?m hoping that its a programmable ?wake word? like Alexia which can also be configured to respond to computer, etc. Because it should obviously be transform, and these looked like early prototypes rather than the final product.

I would dearly love to own that transforming Optimus Prime (that?s always been a dream, especially if you can drive it like a remote control car from your phone..... but I suspect battery life might be an issue here), but I?m all tapped out after Unicron. I know there?s a lot of people in the US with stimulus checks that are treating it like ?crazy money?, hence the skyrocketing of Unicron on the secondary market, but I think so many collectors will be burden that their sales volume will be low. 700 US might easily translate into 1400-1500 here with markups, so its just unaffordable for most. It?s a toy I?d love to see in person (even Bob mentioned you?re going to be using that carry-case to exhibit it to friends and strangers) but no-one could I lay down that much cash for one.

Addendum: If you?re interested in the technology involved, check out the manufacturer site for Robosen. This isn?t their first rodeo, and they have existing transforming robots (eg. The rover). I watched the video for the Rover, and it responds to the wake word Transform. So presumably we?ll see that wakeword in the Optimus as well, though it does seem strange it wasn?t used in the video.

Do we know if the transforming Optimus Prime will be available in Australia, maybe from EB in a similar style to Unicron?

Wasn’t expecting such a big drop. Rhinox is a bit disappointing, I’ll track down the T30 one instead. Tracks is nice but I will stick with my RTS for now.

Soundwave looks ripper, if I see one around I may grab it. So far the small scale core class guys haven’t impressed me, but this one is nice. Scorponok looks fantastic for the cartoon character, I am attached to him at all but may pick him up eventually.

Correct, "converts" has replaced "transforms" on packaging since the early '90s. If you go and look at the recent Walmart reissues you will notice that (among other changes) they've changed "transforms" to "converts."

Perhaps contact robosen if they have an American contact, to see if they have an Australian distributor.

The sole Leader and Voyager will hopefully mean more around for those wanting Galvatron and Rhinox specifically. After seeing Optimus Primal and Dinobot far outlast their case mates Cyclonus and Inferno (because of less popularity and the 2:1 assortment) I'm glad there isn't a Voyager I want with Rhinox. Galvatron I think will be popular too, so a full case of him only is welcomed after seeing KD Ultra Magnus get gobbled up.

Hopefully Big W and Myer get a good quantity of Rodimus, like they did with Sky Lynx (or Target which had Jetfire). He deserves to be widely available to collectors and not just a few scalpers.

As with Huffer, I think Tracks will be the first to go from that case. I hope this wave of Deluxes makes it to us in good numbers given the scarcity currently of wave 2.

There was a rumour going around (due to a recent listing) that Starscream may make a return this wave. It looks like we already have Wheeljack locked in this wave as well. Still, should see a bit of stock like Dinobot this round I hope.
