I thought I posted up photos of that one from this year's Toyfair trip, but I can't find it with a search, so here's the photo I took...

I was half-joking to Demonac when I said I wanted to have a ride on it, but he was telling me to go for it, just to see if I would.

    (no... I didn't)

My kids would go crazy for this... and I would have to let them ride it.

Funny thing is, those sorts of shopping centre rides have to be retired eventually... so imagine reserving it and then buying it when it does get retired.
That would certainly put you in the obsessed category of fan, for having one of the most obscured Transformers items in your collection...

I get the feeling that shopping centres contract the supply, management and maintenance of these kiddy rides to an external company that specialises in these machines on a lease agreement rather than buy them outright. The rides would more likely be taken back by this company and refit with a new shell and livery to meet current trends as the 'engine' of the ride is pretty simple and can be easily rebuilt/repurposed.

The old shells probably become landfill (or end up on ebay) but you could call such a company to see what they do with them.

well Big W Southland got their Devy's today, got the phone call and put mine on lay-by. Didn't see any on the shop floor (nor any Beast Hunters figures) so I guess all were spoken for?

Yep... that's who I meant when suggesting to reserve it. (the owner of the ride, not the shopping centre) if anyone was that keen for it.
(I'd just want the individual vehicles off the ride, placed around the collection room... or facing the TV for kiddies... or grown-ups if the seat inside the vehicle is big enough. )

You almost fooled me. Sounds like what happened on the Toyfair trip stays on the Toyfair trip.

I was hoping he'd post the photo he got me to take of him riding Optimus.

Or did that only happen in my mind?
