I get the feeling that this was designed for Reflector for the more dedicated Fans (as it makes more sense), but then slightly modified to also be released as Optimus for everyone else to pay for the mould (as Optimus is the more recognisable character, who can sell just about any toy).

The two JP Canon Transformers - Optimus and Reflector - are now on Amazon Australia for pre-order, for au$277 on April 8th 2023.

I would expect them to be listed at other speciality places like EB/Zing.
