    Not a Nemesis, but a Darkside Optimus Prime.

    TakaraTomy did a black & aqua evil version, but not named as Nemesis Prime (or even the Scourge equivalent). It was called "Darkside Optimus Prime" - part of a 2-pack exclusive set for the JP United line.
    Since it is Scourge/Nemesis colours, you could easily call it that if you wanted to.

    For some reason, Hasbro & TakaraTomy are able to release evil versions of Optimus toys, and fans are fine with it, but never a heroic or Autobot version of a Megatron toy, that I can think of. (in the normal universe - not counting the Shattered Glass universe)
    Even that JP United Darkside set had Optimus done in a "reversed" evil form, but not a reversed Megatron to match.

    I guess the appeal is in seeing how heroes would behave if they were unburdened by their moral code. Actors often say that villains are more fun to play because they don't have to follow the rules like heroes do. Having a villain become good is like seeing that character becoming shackled by a moral code which would take the 'fun' out of that character. In G1 we had the episode "Attack of the Autobots" which showed the Autobots becoming evil. "Megatron's Master Plan" showed the Decepticons being good, but it was all a ruse. BM Jetstorm was an evil version of Silverbolt.

    We see it other franchises too, e.g.
    + Red Kryptonite can remove Kal El's inhibitions causing him to become incredibly selfish and even megalomaniacal.
    + Toy Story = seeing Emperor Zurg turn good and become Buzz 2's father in TS2 was cute and funny, but not as exciting as seeing Buzz become Lotso's minion in TS3 (then becoming Spanish Mode Buzz was hilarious )
    etc.

    Just looking over the collection (paying particular attention to redeco lines (like Universe, Classics, BotCon, etc), and conferring with Demonac, there appears to be one Megatron toy that has been used as an Autobot - T-Wrecks (using BW Megatron mould).
    It is probably the only one that uses a distinctly "Megatron" mould for an Autobot... compared to the dozens of Decepticons using distinctly Optimus moulds.

    So does this mean that the moral of the story from Hasbro & TakaraTomy, is that naughty/evil/criminal people never redeem themselves and become good... so there is no point in trying to turn over a new leaf and do something good?

    It seems to be quite common in folklore, mythology etc. Angels can become demons, but when do demons ever become angels? In Middle Earth Orcs are corrupted Elves, but you never have a "redeemed" Orc.

    "If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."

    Beast Machines = G4

    Classicsverse = G6
    Alternity = G7
    Wouldn't Binaltech and Alternity technically be like G1.75 or something, with their placement in the timeline?

    I would think Reverse Convoy might count, particularly as he's the closest thing to a Nemesis Megatron (other than maybe Beast Changer/Savage Noble). It's an interesting point - there have obviously been Megatrons that are originally-Autobot moulds, i.e. the new GT-R Megs (Prime, Saber, Max...), GoBots Megatron (Blowout, Hot Shot, Artfire...), BotCon 2006 Megatron (Red Alert, Countdown...), Bot Shot Megatron (Optimus Prime), etc. but HasTakTom seems a lot more hesitant to start with a Megatron mould and turn it into an Autobot.

    I had a feeling that the Combat Hero mould was used... but I only saw the yellow one in my collection, which had a Decepticon symbol on it (Universe Bludgeon).

    This is at least a creative use of a Megatron mould, but unfortunately the story behind that character toy is that it is a Prime/Convoy that has been possessed by a Megatron... so for some reason they went with a toy that looks like a Megatron possessed by Optimus (Optimus head on a Megatron body).

    Would it really kill them (Hasbro or TakaraTomy) to have a "reformed" Megatron in at least one continuum to make it different/interesting, or even an undercover Autobot disguised as Megatron... a bit like the Cybertron Sky Shadow toy being written up as Jetfire undercover.
