They are compared to what we've been offered previously but the new MP cars are designed to be in scale with MP10. The only one that may cause some scale issues would be MP09 if you display him as Hot Rod. Robot mode heights are listed on toys' review threads. Here's MP Lambor's (16cm). Yeah, it's not huge. Another reason why TakTOM MPs aren't worth full RRP IMHO.

Something just occurred to me. Since G1 Takara has replaced the Hasbro names of many figures with their own names ie: Optimus Prime = Convoy, Bumblebee = Bumble. Why is it that Takara has switched to using Hasbro's names since the 2007 movie and Animated?

Marketing push for the Movies I'd imagine. If all your new Convoys are now Optimus Primes, like the one that appears in the film, more mainstream fans will recognise the name. It broadens the potential audience for the toys.
