Rainmakers can sometimes refer to other generic cartoon seekers, not just the three (blue, green & yellow seekers) in the episode Divide & Conquer... which is why Masterpiece Sunstorm is also referred to as a Rainmaker by fans (because there was a yellow seeker in both episodes).

And even with animation variations/errors, there is some debate as to whether the yellow/orange seeker from the first episode is the same as the one from the Rainmaker episode... or that either of them can be called Sunstorm now that the character has been retconned by Dreamwave into a demi-god.
(it also doesn't help that FunPub officially named their "first episode" Seekers as "Rainmakers" for BotCon 2013... adding to the confusion among fans)

The first official use of the name Sunstorm was on the orange redeco of the Starscream toy (for ehobby) in 2003, at a time when ehobby were releasing other cartoon-inspired redecos (like Hauler, Astrotrain and Golden Lagoon Jazz) with a fan-derived name of Sunstorm.

Dreamwave then took the character (name) in 2004 and created a demi-god Decepticon from it, ignoring why ehobby named it Sunstorm (the name the fans were using for the yellow Gen1 cartoon cannon-fodder seeker).
It's worth noting that the first Sunstorm toy (by Ehobby in 2003) was entirely orange, but Sunstorm toys since then have been either yellow or orange... which can cover both "Sunstorm" Seekers from the Gen1 cartoon.

(I might be in the minority, but I think that both yellow cartoon Seekers can be Sunstorm, and he is NOT the demi-god "created" by Dreamwave - he is just another regular seeker)

As a side note about Hauler/Roadhauler, when Cliffjumper says 'Hauler, pull him up" in the G1 pilot episode, we see the scene quickly cut to a different coloured crane that looks suspiciously familiar.

Unless Budiansky or a writer says something official about it, I personally think it was just an early inclusion of an upcoming toy, before they had finalised a name for it... perhaps Grapple at one stage was even considered for the 1984 line-up of toys, or they couldn't get the toy or name done finalised in time for the first release of the toys (but the first episode of the cartoon was already being drawn and they now couldn't remove that plot element, but could remove him from other parts of the season).
A lot of those second year toy-moulds were around at the same time as most of the first year ones, and Budiansky was tasked to write bios for about 50 (if I remember correctly).

I think it could have been written off (retconned in something official later) as Cliffjumper calling Grapple by a nickname.... leaving that RoadHauler toy as one of the extra two Constructicons. But Ehobby gave it an Autobot symbol, and FunPub wrote him up as defecting to the Autobots.
(I don't think ehobby had an official bio released with the toy?)

On the other hand.... it's not like Sunbow didn't randomly pad out the cast (particularly the Seekers and Reflector) when it was necessary, and then quietly remove them after that episode, or plot element.

I must admit, when the eHobby Load Hauler/Sunstorm set came out, I got it just for Hauler. I wasn't really interested in Sunstorm (who at the time hadn't appeared in the DW comics, he was just a toy based on an obscure Decepticon jet). But of course, they were only sold as a set so I had to get them as a set. And of course Sunstorm has since become more 'established' in TF lore, so I'm not retrospectively glad that I did end up getting this toy even though I was initially nonplussed about it. The way that Load Hauler's tech specs explains the colouration difference makes his personality seem similar to that of pre-empurata Shockwave. I quite like the Obscure Transformers Website's page on Hauler.

Backstory aside, i like the Roadhauler toy. The colours work well & it sits nicely between Inferno & Grapple. Just need an Artfire...

I'll only get one if they reissue it. I'm not personally willing to fork out a small fortune for an original G1 figure. I got United Artfire which, unless a reissue happens, will probably be as close as I'll ever get to owning an Artfire. It's kinda annoying how they've reissued Stepper but not Artfire... and we know that the G1 Inferno mould is in tact. Maybe the Artfire reissue didn't sell well (they are both really obscure characters, even in Japan)

I suspect Artfire not being reissued may have something to do with the TFC reissue of Stepper not selling as well as they anticipated. The TRU version, as stated on Ricochet's wiki page, was priced to clear at $8, $27 below his TRU rrp.

I'm about to start collecting the Smallest Transforming Transformers that fit into my Prime, Megatron, Seeker and Bumblebee/Soundwave shelves. Is there anything I need to be aware of about these guys before I start collecting like KO's, easily broken figures? Oh and is the Megatron able to get through customs?

Ive recently started to collect these little guys also & quite like them. They're transformations are similar to their G1 incarnations- Thrust has detachable fists, launchers & Soundwave comes with a teeny-tiny version of Ravage.
Being so small, they only have basic articulation & wheels that don't roll & so on. As for accesories, Prime has a rifle, Red Alert & Jazz for example have nothing. The joints on mine seem fine & are able to hold simple poses.

As for products, here are TT's releases

Here are the third party company Justltoys releases

i wouldnt be too concerned with Megatron. The Reveal the Shield Legends Megatron figure that was bigger was released to retail outlets here. I imported mine with no problems
