This is probably a stupid question, but... yesterday I went to a hobby store and specifically asked for a plastic modelling glue. She sold me a Humbrol Enamel Thinner and told me that it can be used as an adhesive. Is this actually true or should I go back with the unopened thinner and get a refund?

I've never heard of using enamel thinner as glue. This is my glue of choice:

This stuff softens the plastic and 'welds' the parts together, so be careful when applying it or you can end up with a pretty unsightly mess. You can read plenty more tips and advice about glueing online but in general, less is more. :-)

Get a Mans glue I stopped using that in Primary School. Use Zapa Gap or Loctite 406 if you want it done right and stronger than it ever was.

Depends what you want to do with it. For styrene model kits it's fantastic for cementing parts together but it's useless for anything else. I use zap-a-gap too, but generally only for gap filling, if I need a fast bond or if I'm working with photoetch.

Gok, what do you want to use the glue for?

The right wing mirror of my BT Prowl came off and I need to reattach it. I gotta say, the rubber wing mirrors on the MP Nissans certainly reduce the chances of their wing mirrors ever snapping off!

In that case, get yourself some zap-a-gap; regular modelling cement probably won't work. I suggest the green label (medium viscosity), squeeze a little on to a piece of glass or foil, then use a needle to apply it to the part. Most hobby shops have it so it should be a fairly straight-forward exchange.

3A Toys revealed that they have a Transformers license. This is intriguing...

How many other toy manufacturers licensed by Hasbro have created Transformers that actually transform? I can't think of any except maybe the Titanium line...

And Takara Tomy are more of a partner, okay?
Which brings us to where we are today...

I just got my first Arms Micron, Thundercracker (I'm only planing to get one more, Skywarp). I'm a bit shocked at how, um, DIY it is. Did Takara mention why the Arms Micron's don't have tampos and the Micron is left on it's tree like a Gundam? Seems like a big backwards step for the Transformers line.

Titaniums were still part of Hasbro, just a different division, like Star Wars & Marvel Crossovers. Even Kreo is a separate division to the Main Transformers department (according to someone married to the person in charge of Kreo). (it's probably why they've had the occasional name errors on Kreo)
If Hasbro are indeed "allowing" another (separate) company to produce converting Transformers *toys*, I think it would probably be a first (for Hasbro), because they are so possessive of their properties.
TakaraTomy have done it with CMS, but with restrictions... and the Revoltech (which aren't convertible, or strictly speaking, toys).
