Movie Robot cast revealed. (lotsa spoilers)

Now that we've gotten past the one day of the year in which you can't trust any news items...

Paramount have apparently released to a couple of news sources a cast listing of the Autobots and Decepticons in the new movie, but I think these are probably just the main (speaking perhaps) cast, as we were led to believe there are supposed to be about 40 robots in TF2.

Actually, the cast listing appears to come from an official Theatre poster, which I guess is meant to prepare the (non-fan) general public which sides all the new 'aliens' are on.

Some interesting names though, and I think some may already be either wrong, or different to their toy versions (like Brawl/Devastator in the first movie). A recently revealed toy on an asian board has 'The Doctor' called 'Scapel' (which would make sense, because Hasbro wouldn't be able to sell a toy called 'The Doctor' with the existing Dr Who brand already (assumedly) owning that name).

It's funny to see that the Yahoo article copied the names from the theatre poster, but left the 's' off Skids, AND, Tformers copied it exactly without noticing. And the author of the Yahoo article (who might not be a big fan), says that Demolishor is part of Devastator, but Demolishor isn't part of Devastator. I've fixed up his errors...

AUTOBOTS
OPTIMUS PRIME: The Autobots' leader - alternate form: Peterbilt truck
IRONHIDE: Weapons specialist - GMC Topkick.
RATCHET: Medic - Hummer H2.
BUMBLEBEE: Friend and mode of transportation for Sam Witwicky -Chevorlet Camaro.
ARCEE: A female Autobot - motorcycle.
JETFIRE: An older Decepticon who switches sides - SR71 Blackbird jet.
JOLT: the original toy was a Decepticon, but in the movie he's a good guy - Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid.
SKIDS & MUDFLAP: a.k.a. "The Twins" - Chevrolet Beat and Trax concept cars.

DECEPTICONS
STARSCREAM: Formerly Megatron's second in command, he escaped at the end of the first movie - F-22 Raptor jet.
SCORPONOK: The mechanical scorpion that attacked the American troops in the desert.
THE FALLEN: One of the original Transformers, he's called "the most elemental bad guy" by the screenwriters.
SIDEWAYS: The Audi R8 seen crashing through a building in the trailer.
SOUNDWAVE: A cassette player in the original toys; his alternate mode will fly.
RAVAGE: A four-legged, cat-like robot.
THE DOCTOR. (Scalpel)
WHEELIE: A small, radio-controlled truck.
DEMOLISHER: Transform into a construction vehicle.
DEVASTATOR: A giant robot formed by the Constructicons joining together; individually, they are: Scavenger, Scrapper, Hightower, Longhaul, Rampage, Overload and Mixmaster.

The new pic of Ravage looks good.

I thought I saw a few pics online of Barricade early on... I suppose they could of been old photos used. Or maybe Barricade has a Count Dooku in Episode III cameo and thus doesn't count.

I don't know about the whole "little engine that could" comparison. It sounds like Bay isn't taking this too seriously... Lets hope I'm wrong.

They've forgotten about Chromia and her sister, probably because Arcee will most likely be the only one to have significant face time.

The 40 robots thing probably includes smaller unnamed bots.

This is just a 'main cast' listing on a Theatre Poster. It isn't the entire cast. An article here at Variety website talks about ILM working on 'some 60 robot characters', so don't think that the above list is it.
