Transformers Animated Se3Ep09 "Human Error Part II" Discussion

Explanation of Electrostatic Soundwave. Introduction of Ratbat. Return of the Dinobots, Scrapper and Wreck-Gar. My favorite exchange:

Sari: "You named him Snarl?"

Scrapper: "I was going to call him Slag, but he took it as an insult."

One of the funnier parts was when wreckgar got the accordian out.

And yes, it seemed very out of character for prowl to get caught as easy as he did when he first escaped the program. I thought he would have scoped out the situation first before trying to free the others.

All in all great episode. The only let down was fanzone not saying his "This is why I hate machines" line.

I think so far the most interesting this about animated has been the complex command structure. Instead of G1 where it was clear cut "who is Autobot, who is Decepticon" we have a teams of bots from the Elite Guard to Team Chaar, and even a group of substitute Autobots with a Constructicon, a Dinobot and Wreck-gar working together.

Overall a pretty good conclusion. What was Wreck-Gar doing under the ocean?

Wreck Gar with the accordion was hilarious. The Snarl-Slag name thing was also funny.

Kinda weird seeing Optimus Prime becoming El Kabong :/

Things I liked:

- The Traffic Light Of Doom got an official appearance.

- It looked like techno-organic Sari kicked a mini-Soundwave in the nuts.

- Less than a second after telling her dad, “I don’t wanna hurt you,” Sari dropped an entire bookcase on him.

- The sneaky way of selling the recoloured Soundwave and Ratbat.

- The Substitute Autobots. I love mismatched multi-allegiance teams - it's like the old days of Marvel UK. (And yes, the lines, “I was going to call him Slag but I think he took it as an insult” and Weird Al’s iconic polka accordion.)

Things I didn't like:

- “Ratbat: deploy. Operation: Autobot destruction.” Yeah, like that's a specific 'operation'.

- Optimus throwing an enemy guitar that turns into a bird in the air before he plays it.

Question:

- Why is there a bite out of Soundwave’s back again? Did Sari do that last episode?

Yeah, as SilverDragon said, Sari blasted him there last episode. But they made a visual continuity error in that episode because just after she blasted a hole there, the hole vanished and was never seen again for the rest of that episode! In this episode they've gone and corrected that mistake by putting the hole back... in his back.

Interesting to see "Wyatt's Toys" appearing in the background too.

- The Substitute Autobots. I love mismatched multi-allegiance teams - it's like the old days of Marvel UK.

Heh, like a goofy slapstick version of G1's Survivors.

Great use of characters in this episode.

Great episode. Hasbro better release some Animated Constructicons in the near future. They've had more air time than alot of other characters.
