If you are a Star Wars fan can you claim a religius holiday based on religious believes?

Probably, but it's not a public holiday in this country. Saturday was the 12th day of Ridvan (Baha'i) and this coming Saturday is Visakha Puja (Buddhism).

But personally as a member of the Jedi religion I would like to say to everyone, may the Force be with you!

Are you officially a member or one of those 'I believe in my own way' types?

Well in the last two national censuses I put "Jedi" down as my religion. My Star Wars fandom just isn't what it used to be so I'm thinking about putting down "Transformers" in the next national census. It pretty much like a religion for me anyway considering that I virtually live and breathe TFs.

kup: not all Star Wars fans are necessarily followers of the Jedi faith. And you can celebrate any day as a religious holiday, but the Australian government doesn't recognise all religious occasions as public holiday. e.g. events like Ramadan, Buddhist New Year, Baha'i New Year etc. aren't public holidays in Australia. Easter isn't a public holiday in Japan. etc. -- but just because it's not a public holiday doesn't mean you can't observe it yourself.
