i get really annouyed when Chinese people get angry when people criticise the Chinese government, claiming its an attack on their country, how so? the socialist government wasn't elected by the people to reflect their idelologies and to claim that this government represents the people of China is appalling , i feel that history has stood still when the people are brainwashed into thinking the people's party is crucial for controlling the large population of China, im so sick of the injustices , everyone deserves the right to demand freedom...
I find the ability of the Chinese government to simply block out bits of their history to be fascinating. Not that I think it's a good thing, mind-it just shows the incredible amount of control they wield over the country.
In my opinion, China's standing in word affairs would improve immensely if they actually acknowledged the events such as Tienanmen Square that have occurred under the Communist Party's rule. Of course, considering their character, this is about as likely as pigs flying, or Emirate Xaaron getting a toy.

Oddly enough, June 4th is also the date that the Battle of Midway happened between the Japanese and Amreican fleets in WWII. Often wrongly described as the "decisive" battle that doomed Japan's efforts in the war.
Wonder if June 4 has some sort of curse on it?![]()

I love arguing with my relatives about tiannemen
some of them are sympathetic to the protesters or revolutionaries (depending on yer view) and the ones who live in mainland china are so indoctrinated with Red propaganda that they dont know anything about history or dont say a word that criticises glorious chairman

I find the ability of the American government to simply block out bits of their history, without using strict censorship to be fascinating. Not that I think it's a good thing, it just shows the incredible amount of amenities they've provided to their people to distract them from caring.
I love Midway too!
I've found that many of the ones who have lived in mainland china actually acknowledge how shit the government is. Those whose parents or grandparents were expats seem to be more vehemently defensive of their origins because they have no idea how crap life is back in the mainland. Then theres those who do business in china who talk it up because the country is allow them to pay for their three mortgages
You fireplace wont start up because you either have insufficient air/oxygen or startup fuel. Jar open the door a bit, make sure you have lots of 'light' fuel to build up the heat and pressure required to force smoke out the chimney instead of the outside coldness and wind forcing the smoke back down into your house.
