I find the ability of the Chinese government to simply block out bits of their history to be fascinating. Not that I think it's a good thing, mind-it just shows the incredible amount of control they wield over the country.

Ditto. I heard today on the radio that the Chinese government still refuses to give away any info on just how many casualties there were.
