Damn it! The barrel of my G1 Shockwave has somehow yellowed and the screws rusted! No other toys have suffered from such damage around him so have no idea what happened!

I can understand the screws rusting but I can't imagine how the barrel could turn yellow when it's grey. I thought only white plastics could turn yellow Nothing is real anymore...

No any sort of plastic can turn yellow if it's susceptible to it. It is however more noticeably yellow in whites but there are distinct color changes in colored plastic too like them becoming darker or even green.

That sucks Kup Be careful if you're planning on buying a replacement off eBay or the like. I can only imagine the number of KO Shocky parts floating around (there was a purple barrel one as well which should make them easier to avoid).

A cursory glance at my G1 Fortress Maximus will show you extremely yellowed greys. White is the most susceptible to yellowing, but any kind of plastic can photodegrade.

I had the same issue with my childhood G1 Slugslinger's thighs and hands when I pulled it out of storage for the last 10 odd years

I've been reminded why I don't like eBay auctions. I put bids on about 20 TF comics last night, individual postage was high but in bulk the combined postage would be a good deal.

Woke up to find that I'd been outbid and lost all of the auction, but one. So now I've got one comic with high postage. I'd have rather been outbid on everything then be left with only one purchase!

Going to stick with trusty "Buy it now".

that's a bummer, can you ask the seller to send via a cheaper method?
I've purposely bid more than I should ahve in the past, just so I could get the cheaper postage, that's probably worse...
