Which us why i don't go to the cinemas as often anymore. And when i do, it's gold class. I'm paying the extra to be able to enjoy a movie in peace as opposed to hearing babies cry, kids squeel, loud & obnoxious mobile phone conversations and general disegard towards the paying public.

Speaking of Iron Man 3, I went to JB HI FI on Monday (we had a rehearsal at Hamer Hall for Speech Night and were allowed to roam the city afterwards) and besides seeing the Complete Remastered G1 Collection (which was quite a surprise), I was appalled at the price of Iron Man 3 for DVD. $38, I believe it was?!?!?

That is way to rich for me, I was expecting something a little more around the $20-24 range. Well, time to wait for it to drop.

^ Yeah, I've noticed that too. DVD's seem to cost more now than they did 10 years ago

That... should be the BR triple-pack price. Not the DVD price.

I believe new release DVDs in this country actually have a high Recommened Retail Price, but generally nobody sells a DVD at RRP due to all the store discounting/competition. JB is one of the few stores I've seeen that do sometimes have them on shelf at RRP, but they would have been selling Iron Man 3 for something like $20 when it first came out, and if you wait a bit longer it'll be in a 2 for $30 deal or things like that.

JBHiFi is the best and cheapest place for new Release DVDs. But what annoys me though is one new release movie will cost $19.99 and another will cost $30. They are both just DVDs.

    It's not a kids film.
you could have probably asked for a partial refund at the box office. if it's an adult film, they shouldn't be taking children in to see it. And the cinema shouldn't be selling childrens tickets to it.

Kids are not necessarily the problem. I made the mistake on going to see it at the Shire and during the film, there were 4 walk outs from the 'surfy jock types' and a couple of bimbos behind us (adults not kids) could not stop giggling and carrying on because they did not understand what was happening in the movie. I had to tell them to shut up.

It is really depressing as it shows how dumbed down Sydney society is becoming. I can understand the walk outs as at least they were polite enough to do so if if they didn't like the movie but the ones that remained just to make fun of a movie because they couldn't understand it?

    I think you'll find it's not just Sydney. ...
reamaining to make fun of a movie at the expense of others enjoyment is also related to a very common problem of selfishness in todays society. "I don't like it so no one else will either".

    bummer.

I remember Titanic being ruined for me, I went to watch it about 2 or 3 months after it was released and just before the end when Leonardo's character floats off, the couple behind us, the chickk says "oohh, ow ow, I want to watch this bit."
