    Default Transformers edition Chevrolet Camaro.

Announced at SDCC this weekend in America, is a limited edition release *package* to add to the actual 2010 Camaro, to give it a Transformers theme.
This would make it the most expensive Transformers merchandise (or toy if you see cars as play things and not mere transportation objects) that fans will be able to add to their collection.

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition includes the following:

    * AUTOBOT® shield on the driver and passenger side panels
    * AUTOBOT® shield on each of the four wheel's center cap
    * AUTOBOT® shield embroidered on interior center console
    * "TRANSFORMERS" logo on driver and passenger doors' sill plates
    * "TRANSFORMERS" logo embedded into the hood rally stripes
    * High-gloss black center rally stripe package
    * Manufacturer’s suggested retail price of package: $995
Not sure what the cost of the car itself is at the moment, but for an extra (US) grand, you can own your very own life-sized Autobot.

Make sure you check out the link for the huge gallery of photos.

I wonder if Holden will have that available here as well (if they still end up releasing the Camaro here).

Just got back from the Gold Coast and saw a custom painted Chev Camaro driving around Cavill Ave, racing stripes and all! Didn't see no Autobot insignia anywhere but you could tell from a mile away it was Bumbleebee. Didn't have my camera with me and was hoping for a pic with it.

The base model of the Camaro is only around $22,245, which is the V6 i believe. The SS which is the V8 model is much more expensive.

Today at Comic-Con, General Motors officially announced the 2010 Chevy Camaro Transformers Special Edition. The $995 appearance package can be applied to LT (V6) and SS-trim Camaros in Rally Yellow with or without the optional RS package.
So if your cheap, you can still apply the package to the base model.

The V6-powered Camaro uses a 3.6L engine with variable valve timing to optimize performance and fuel economy. It is SAE-certified at 304 horsepower (227 kW) and 273 lb.-ft. of torque (370 Nm). A six-speed manual transmission is standard with the 3.6L engine; a Hydra-Matic 6L50 electronically controlled six-speed automatic, with TAPshift control, is available.

The high-performance Camaro SS is equipped with a powerful 6.2L V-8, with a choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Manual transmission-equipped models receive the LS3 engine, SAE-certified at 426 horsepower (318 kW) and 420 lb.-ft. of torque (569 Nm). It is paired with a TR6060 six-speed transmission.

A new, L99 V-8 engine is used on automatic transmission-equipped SS models. It is based on the LS3, but also includes GM's fuel-saving Active Fuel Management feature. It is SAE-certified at 400 horsepower (298 kW) and 410 lb.-ft. of torque (556 Nm). It is matched with a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed transmission that helps delivers an EPA-estimated 25 mpg on the highway

The Australian market will only be getting the SS version.

There's two groups importing them, in QLD called Performax International http://www.corvette.com.au/Available...amaro-321.aspx and in VIC called Autogroup International http://www.camaroaustralia.com.au/conversion.html

not sure if either will have the limited edition package

These 2 groups are the only Australian companies making right hand drive conversions. You can certainly import your own without going through these 2 companies if you so wish.

    Hey Saintly,

Sorry to get back to you so late but yeh, Holden is not importing them for sale purposes, only for evaluation/test driving.

    GL to your mate!
