Default Skids and Screech (Generations Vol3 toys) pics.

I don't think these movie coloured "Skids" toys have been released yet, but the publisher's website has put up more pics of each.

If not there, go to http://www.seibertron.com/transforme...screech/17174/

Both appear to have the scooter drone, which I thought was only with the "Crosscut" Diaclone 'mould'.

Im on the fence about these two. i like the G1 mould, loved the ROTF characters but i feel they cost under $100. The drone is a nice touch though

    Screech was in ROTF??

I think I'll pass on these... I too love the mould, but those colours are so garish and cheap-looking that they really put me off (especially for that price).

Linthart: The drone was part of the original Diaclone mould for the Car Robot Honda City R. It's actually a different mould from Skids (the head and chest/bonnet are different) and you can read about the relevance of that mould to Skidshere.

I don't mind the colours on Screech, but Quantum Operative Skids looks awful. I generally dislike seeing movie Transformers in G1 colours and G1 Transformers in movie colours. It seldomly works well.

On the other hand this is a nice opportunity for anyone who missed out on Crosscut to now own that mould (and it is a nice mould), although I much prefer the original Diaclone colours used with Crosscut. The only downside is that it's a double set so you have to get that awful green Skids in order to get Screech. :/

Reminds me of what they did with movie coloured G1 Ratchet and Protect Ironhide; I wanted Protect Ironhide not because he was in movie black, but because black was Ironhide's original Diaclone colour. Didn't care for movie green Ratchet, but I wanted Protect Ironhide badly enough that I got both.

I have to second the feelings said by Gok also, i really like Screech aka Mudflap, but Skids doesnt translate as well onto the G1 mold in recolour

The grey paint looks a little cheap, but I'm looking forward to getting these. Hopefully my preorder will come through soon.

Was that just for the toys? Or the toys and the book?

I preordered mine from TFsource, still waiting to hear that they shipped, and paid more $US than Sky Shadow (but it included the book as well).

Hey Paulbot - yeah, mine was just for the toys. I love my original Transformers: Generations, but I've been disappointed by the 2009 versions (with the exception of the old catalogue scans, which are great), so I gave it a miss. $130 shipped was the best deal I could find - from Andrew Hall (the guy many long-term fans would know as Hydra, most notable recently for helping Jim Sorenson with with The Ark books and writing the foreword for The Ark II.)
