I could go for a GI Joe scale figure, but there's no way I'd collect the whole set. A few examples of figures I'd want to see.

    Circut Breaker
    GB Blackrock
    The Mechanic
Lord Zarak in Headmaster armour with removable helmet.
    Centurion

The last two aren't really humans, but hey.

And while we are talking non humans, why not do a spin of series with re-imaginings of the Pretender shells as action figures? Sure they wouldn't hide TF's or transform, but who wouldn't want a poseable Bludgeon or Skullgrin pretender figure?

Lord Zarak in Headmaster armour with removable helmet.
    That idea is pretty awesome.

I also would love Pretender action figures.

Like a few others have stated, I would have no interest whatsoever in human character figures.

I collect Transformers because they transform.

I would be up for 10cm, GIJoe, Star Wars, Marvel style figures.

I bought Indiana Jones Mutt Williams to stand in for Sam with my movie figs (as did many others I think )

If you took the pattern from the more recent Ironman line you'd have quite a good way of doing things. One "main line" wave - Sam, Mikaela, Lennox - followed by one "classics" wave - Spike, Buster, Circuit Breaker. The only issue with such a model is that there's more history than current figures, but you could do things like NEST Lennox, Desert Battle Lennox, Desert Battle Sam (w/ Matrix sock), College Sam.

I wonder though how popular it would be with non-TF fans. The Avatar/Terminator/Shrek/Wolverine figures never really seemed to sell that well, and I still see some of them on toy shelves.

I think i would if they were good enough. The human alliance were ok for figures that were meant to interact with the robot but better quality would be needed for stand alone figures. I think with the range of 'interesting' human characters on Transformers Animated this concept would have worked great as a cheaper 'scout class' alternative that would also have appealed to children

    I voted other.

As long as its not the stupid movie characters like shia and megan. though actually i would buy them to roleplay autobots turning against the humans and transforming into cars just to run over them repeatedly.

I still really like Spike and Daniels Exo-suits and would like hasbro/takara to make them.

It is a good general rule, that convertability dictates what qualifies as a Transformers toy, but there are enough exceptions now to make it an awkward claim. Actionmasters were one major example, but still had a convertability element included in each pack, to still be faithful to the Transformers concept. Robot Replicas and Robot Heroes don't even have that, so make it hard for many to see them as Transformers at all, despite being official Transformers (r) toys.

To clarify my comment about "I collect Transformers because they transform", I also count toys such as Robot Replicas and Robot Heroes (as Transformers) because they are based on transforming character toys. However, to address the topic of this thread, collecting human characters, I over-simplified my response.
