He looks good. I'm debating whether i should buy the hasbro one or get the TakTom one as i like the card and booklet that comes with them. An upgrade kit will settle the crown issue. Then again i have no money to buy it anyway.
    Well one can dream

I thought we were talking about MP Grimlock, not Drift

Ooh, looks nice. Here's hoping it'll come out here. =) It probably will be pretty dear though... TakaraTOMY's version sold for 13650JPY ($167) -- so I wouldn' be surprised if the RRP here is around the $180 mark. For $230 I can buy the TakaraTOMY version from a local import store... but it wouldn't have the crown. I guess I'd pay $190... but if it exceeded $200 then I'd wait for a sale.

Btw, I remember MP Ultra Magnus selling here for $80... or was that a sale price?

Damn, I musta got ripped. I got it as soon as it came out at Target, and it's possible $80 was the sale price. Oh wells.

MP Magnus was the 3rd toy that I got as a collector. I remember it because I bought it along with 10th Anniversary BW Megatron and Optimus Primal but when I got home I realized that someone had swapped Magnus for some other random toy!

I was really annoyed because I had bought that Magnus from a Target far away from where I lived and it was the last one and I didn't want to bother driving all the way back but then I was told that I could return it at any Target store. Thankfully Target Miranda had one Magnus left and I managed to exchange for it.

Naturally I checked the contents before going to the check out. Phew!

$80 was a special promotional/sale price at Target not standard RRP, and that was for straight Takara Magnus's that Hasbro must have got a hold of.

If were getting the full Hasbrodisation here + factoring Toys R Us, then I doubt we'll see that happen again any time soon.

Actualy I think Grimlock is better scaled with the MP seekers and Binaltech than some of the other MP's. Its Prime, Magnus and Megs who are to big. I know Prime was a big fellow but I don't recall the other Autobots only only being as tall as his groin.

The American fans had a short tease today, as the US TRU website had MP Grimlock listed as 'in stock', before it was quickly changed to 'temporarily not available'.

It does reveal the US price - US$60 - to give us an idea of what it might be priced at here. That would make it about AU$80 here, but expect AU$100 when TRU gets it later this year.

what a rooster tease! At 60USD I'd expect it to retail here for 120AUD. But that's still pretty good considering that TakaraTOMY's version was 13650JPY, which is equivalent to $136.50 for people living in Japan. So taking that into account I'd be willing to pay $120 (but naturally I won't complain if I can get it cheaper )
